Whiskey Trailblazer
How can the shared experience of whiskey help your team forge stronger connections while exploring your vision and values?
Led by a food and beverage expert, this experience aims to create inclusion and belonging through shared whiskey tasting and discussion. During the experience, you will taste two Tennessee whiskey’s side by side, learn techniques for tasting, and stir up one whiskey cocktail together. Using a complete kit with three whiskey samples, ingredients to make one cocktail, a tasting card, and more, you will learn the story of “Nearest” Green and explore how that story has become the most celebrated and awarded whiskey brand in the world.
In June 2016, the New York Times revealed iconic whiskey brand Jack Daniels may have been started based on the work of an under-recognized enslaved man, Nathan “Nearest” Green. A Los Angeles-based entrepreneur was so intrigued that she moved her family to Lynchburg, Tennessee and scoured 10,000 documents to piece together the story of the world’s first known African-American Master Distiller. Mr. Green invented what is known today as the “Lincoln County Process” – a method (passed down to him from West Africa) that delineates Tennessee whiskey from Kentucky bourbon.
Don’t miss this opportunity to create inclusion and belonging, leaving you with new insights, a feeling of camaraderie, and a revitalized team spirit.
