In the world of management, many decisions are driven by assumptions and unexamined theories. In this executive experience, Stanford professor Jeffrey Pfeffer helps your team challenge the status quo by uncovering the hidden assumptions behind your company’s practices. Through interactive exercises, you’ll analyze real company policies and brainstorm the beliefs underpinning them. Whether it’s individual performance rewards in a team-based environment or hiring stars in the belief that performance is the sum of individual efforts, this session reveals where conventional thinking conflicts with social science evidence. With Pfeffer’s guidance, your team will gain the tools to align decisions with evidence, creating a smarter, more effective organization.
