Your team will receive elegant olive oil tasting kits. You will be joined live by an acclaimed producer of America’s top olive oils who will help you “follow the crush” and taste the full variety of oils.
Your team will discover the four “S”s – swirl, sniff, slurp and swallow – of olive oil tasting. You will do four exercises for each oil and you will “rank” the oils you taste.
You will compare tasting notes and rankings – and find you can collectively (and rapidly!) arrive at a language for characterizing something new.
Sciabica Family’s California Olive Oil has been producing olive oil in California since 1936. Originally from Marsala, Sicily, the Sciabica family has passed down the knowledge of olive oil production for four generations.
In the 1980s, the family pioneered “single varietal” olive oils, keeping individual olive types separate (just like wine). In the 1990s, the family again blazed a new path with “fresh flavored” olive oil. Today, Sciabica continues the family tradition of making the highest quality 100% Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil.
Craig Hiliker is a Certified Master Sensory Evaluator of Olive Oil (judge olive oil). He is also a Certified Master Miller of Olive Oil (make olive oil).

“…we started out with no one had any good way to describe the oil. By the time we finished, we had developed our own way to assess. Even though everyone is virtual, we could collaborate. Amazing!…”

“…really excellent for a team. It’s more about the experience of tasting than the olive oil itself…”
